Author Gordon Basichis provides social and political commentary on espionage, sex, fantasy, politics, and mysticism, all deeply rooted in personal experience, in a style that is unique, humorous and beyond the fringe of the common genre. Basichis is the author of the best selling Beautiful Bad Girl, the Vicki Morgan Story, a non-fiction novel that helped define exotic sexuality in the late twentieth century. He is also the author of The Constant Travellers, a mystical, sci-fi Fantasy Western, telling the epic story of a family migrating from the East to West Coast in the late 19th century. The first chapter of Basichis' new book Spook, a Roman A'Clef detailing his personal experiences uncovering Chinese Espionage networks operating in the United States, is featured in a forthcoming anthology, Sleeping with Snakes, Notes from the Los Angeles Underbelly. A professional marketing executive, Basichis is also co-founder of Corra, which as the Corra Group specializes in pre-employment and online dating background checks, as well as corporate research and investigation. Corra helps small and large companies assess marketing capabilities in view of corporate and comparative intelligence analysis. In addition to his books, Basichis has written Crash, a feature film, and co-written several television series pilots. He co-created and served as Executive Producer on the forthcoming Showtime mini-series Land of Dreams. He was the co-producer of an ABC Television Network series pilot, and the producer-director of Jerry, One Man’s Triumph, a video documentary about the nation’s first jailhouse lawyer. He has worked as an investigative journalist and researcher, and in advertising, marketing and public relations. He is the former Vice President of Marketing and Programming for Next World Entertainment Network, one of the first Internet video streaming sites. As the former Senior Vice President of Antigua Road Productions, Mr. Basichis has established relationships at the movie studios, television networks and cable broadcast companies. Basichis believes it is important to continually develop writing that is vital to the present culture, and authors that are not afraid to communicate innovative ideas and capture complex relationships that depict civilization as it exists and where it is going. He believes we have become fearful and complacent in our literary development. We settle for the more limited narratives and dubious insights of the middle brow rather than explore ideas and the language itself in ways that best serve our literary heritage.
