Richard Mgrdechian holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology, as well as an MBA from Columbia University. His career includes positions as a NASA engineer, investment banker and high-tech CEO. He is the author of the Prometheus Award nominated speculative-fiction novel, 3000 Years. One of Richard's principal motivations for writing 3000 Years was the need to point out what he saw happening in American society. He felt the best way to do this was to create a series of completely plausible futuristic societies (based on the logical, linear and cumulative extrapolation of current political, cultural, social and technological trends) as a way to turn a mirror onto ourselves, to show people exactly where we’re headed and to point out just how easy it could be to get there.
