Hello. I'm Steve Goble. I write sword and sorcery, high fantasy, a smattering of science fiction and, every now and then, horror.
I write mostly short fiction, because I love it. Fantasy anthologies such as the Thieves' World books, Andrew Offutt's Swords Against Darkness series, the Conan collections and Fritz Leiber's Fafhrd and Gray Mouser tales rank high on my reading list. My goal is to capture at least some of the fun and flavor of the old pulp-action tales, but not to rewrite them.
I have written one fantasy novel (as yet unpublished) and I'm working on another, with a few others waiting in the wings.
I live in rural Ohio with a wife who writes excellent stories as well, and a young daughter who makes up tales, too.
